For those who use Twitter to meet new people

The last thing I would want is for Twitter Go Getters to die an unnatural death of boredom, so I would like to invite everyone's feedback about what we are doing well on this site and what we could do better.

If you are going to invest your time in being here, I want to make it worth your investment.

Help me to make this a great opportunity for everyone.

I look forward to your comments.

Kind regards
Hayley

Hi Hayley,
Got me thinking here....people join and then fade away! How about a contest once in a while. We should have a good enough group of people that you could feature a business a week, or a month, with a contest for some small prize from that vendor? I know I would participate. Some people don't have a business, so how about a photo contest, say like going towards Christmas, best holiday pic? Or earlier, towards Halloween, enter pics of any of us in costumes this year?

Hi, Haley,

To be honest, until the rapid growth of social sites slows down or until we become hard enough to say to our friends "Enough! No more!" there simply will never be enough hours in the day for anybody with calls upon their time to do justice to any of them.
I routinely accept invitations to join social sites when they are from my friends but I really do not have 3 or 4 hours a day to visit them all and interact properly. Sometimes it is all I can do to answer messages and accept invitations to new friendships.
No social site, as yet, stands head and shoulders above the rest because far too many members are using them as places to promote their businesses or their off-beat, quirky life styles. Excessive marketing has been the down-fall of some really excellent sites, Profit Messaging, Adland Pro and Apsense to name but three.

Thanks for your comments. I agree with both of you. I have myself just gone through and pulled out of the sites where I don't feel I have a real contribution to make or where people are non-responsive as I only want to invest my time where it is the most valuable.

I'll have a think about a competition as I think that is a great idea. I already have an offer of a prize of books for a competition, so perhaps I just need to put something up and see where it takes us. :)

Thanks again for posting! I really appreciate the feedback.
