Join the Twitter Revolution - Power to the Tweeple!!!

Lastnite I was tweeting madly when a follower came up with a brilliant idea that I had sort of been thinking about too, but had forgotten! ;)

I've been quite impressed with the interface of Twitter's current Election2008 page and the way it has really reached out to millions and vice versa. Now there is definitely no doubting the power of Twitter for all things great and small!

Millions use this platform to be heard, so the idea to use it for the greater good and do something really positive with it makes complete sense. @PeopleForEarth came up with the idea we should have an "Inspirational" page where we can all tweet our quotes/ideas/news and really make our 140 characters count! Instead of simply sending this request to Twitter individually, we decided to turn it up a notch recruiting our followers, urging them to tweet @twitter or go to the top of their page via Help and submit the request for the new feature there.

So, I'm now urging all YOU to test the real Power of the Tweeple and join us! This will be an ongoing campaign that will hopefully grow as the word spreads, and this can only happen with your help!

This is such a worthwhile idea, especially in these uncertain times when many are in need of something uplifting and positive. This is your chance to make a difference to people around the world, getting yourself heard and spreading a message of hope and positivity.

p.s/ As a guideline of what you could write, I submitted my request via Help as follows:
There's no doubting the power of Twitter esp. in light of having a special page dedicated to a certain theme eg Election2008. Millions use this platform to be heard, so let's use this for good and do something really positive with it! Howsabout starting a new inspirational page for quotes/ideas/thoughts/news - anything uplifting where we can all tweet to make the world a better place in 140 characters or less?????!!!

I tweeted to @twitter - Let's use Tweeple Power for the greater good! Pls create an inspirational page for news/ideas/thoughts/quotes. Positivity rocks!!!

Anything along these lines will do. You don't have to be tweeting it all day, even 1 a day from many will get the point across. And please enlist the help of your followers to pass it on etc!

Let's all do this - the world needs inspirational tweets!

An interesting concept. I missed the election stuff, so I'm a little in the dark here. Is this an additional page on Twitter that can be used for twittering?

Yup Hayley - there is a title bar at the top of your Twitter page called Election2008 and if you click on that it will take you to here - go and check it out!!!
